The Central Massachusetts Historical Commission Coalition
The Central MA Historical Commission Coalition (CMHCC), was organized in 2018, based off the successful model of the Western MA Historic Commission Coalition. The group meets 2-3 times each year and offers opportunities for members of local historical commissions and other historic preservation advocates to network and explore current challenges and successes in the field. Meeting locations are rotated within the central Massachusetts. The CMHCC comprises representatives from the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, Montachusett Regional Planning Commission, Preservation Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
For more information on the CMHCC please contact Stacia Caplanson at email@example.com.
At this time, the CMHCC continues to meet and host presentations virtually.

Updating Your Community's Historic Resources Survey
Your historical commission knows that it is important to document your community’s historic resources, but where do you begin? What makes a “good” inventory form? How long will it take to comprehensively document your community? This workshop will provide an overview of survey and inventory work, one of the most important tasks a local historical commission can undertake. We will review the MHC’s inventory forms, past survey efforts, current inventory standards, and how you might develop a survey plan to begin comprehensively updating your community’s survey of historic resources. An overview of the MHC’s Survey & Planning Grant program will also be provided.
An Introduction to MACRIS Maps
A great presentation about an amazing tool for local preservationists, commission members, advocates, etc. Many thanks to the Massachusetts Historical Commission for the informative walk through and helpful hints on how to use MACRIS Maps. This was a joint presentation between the Western and Central MA Historic Commission Coalitions.
