The Central Massachusetts Historical Commission Coalition
The Central MA Historical Commission Coalition (WMHCC), was organized in 2018, based off of the successful model of the Western MA Historic Commissions Coalition. The group meets 2-3 times each year and offer opportunities for members of local historical commissions, and other historic preservation advocates, to network with colleagues and explore current challenges and successes in the field. Meeting locations are rotated within the central MA area. The CMHCC is comprised of representatives from the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, Montachusett Regional Planning Commission, Preservation Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

Topic: Municipal Preservation Plans
This workshop provides an overview of what to include in a municipal historic preservation plan. A municipal historic preservation plan can be a very useful document and provide direction on how your community can grow, and at the same time, preserve those aspects that make it a special place. With its detailed analysis, public input, list of pro-active tools, community-specific goals and action plan, a preservation plan offers the local historical commission, preservation partners and various stakeholders a singular document for moving forward. In this workshop, you will learn about the various sections of a municipal preservation plan, how the public is involved and options for getting started.
