Historic New England Field School: Using Easements to Protect Historic Properties


Join Historic New England preservation experts for an in-depth course designed for historic preservation students and professionals. Learn how to develop, use, and monitor preservation easements to protect historic properties in perpetuity, as well as the legal and structural requirements of preservation restriction agreements. Find out how Historic New England's Preservation Easement Program protects 104 privately owned properties across the region, including monitoring procedures for annual inspections.

Participate in field exercises, including visits to easement-protected properties, and gain a practical and theoretical understanding of Historic New England methodologies in this unique and highly regarded program.
