Public Outreach

Although often overlooked, public outreach is an indispensable part of protecting historic resources.  When people gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of historic resources, they are far more likely to join, in finding ways to maintain, rehabilitate and adaptively re-use them.  A major goal of the local historical commission is to increase the public’s awareness about the value of historic preservation in general and about the significance of their own community’s resources in particular.
