We're Off & Cruising...

Our Cruising the Commonwealth Tour is off to a fantastic start! We've done four meetings so far (Barnstable, New Bedford, Worcester & Plymouth) and have five more scheduled! Many thanks to all who have come out, shared their thoughts, concerns, needs and ideas with us. We have already begun to see trends, similarities and also some unique challenges. It is also heartening to know that there are such dedicated local and regional advocates working for and supporting preservation in their communities every day. As PM is out Cruising the Commonwealth over the next few weeks, we realize that the meetings may not work for everyone's schedule. Or you found out that we were in your neck of the woods the day before and really wanted to share some comments. We have you covered. Preservation Employment Opportunity

Providence Preservation Society (“PPS”) seeks a Director of Preservation. Founded in 1956, the Society is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to improve Providence by advocating for historic preservation and the enhancement of its unique character through thoughtful design and planning. There is currently a 19-member Board of Trustees and a full-time staff of five. This position will report to the Executive Director. Cruising the Commonwealth 2017

Communication is essential for the growth, development and strengthening of any organization, network and partnership. Preservation Massachusetts feels that over the past few years, as busy as we have been with programs and initiatives, we have not been in great communication with partners and preservationists around the Commonwealth. There is a lot going on that we know about, but there is a lot happening that we are not aware of, and a lot of people, organizations and communities who may not know who Preservation Massachusetts is or what resources and networks exist to assist them and their preservation, revitalization and community focused work. Are you looking for something to do this long holiday weekend? Perhaps something history related? It's only fitting, especially with the 4th of July right around the corner! Check out The History List, a great compilation of history themed events happening all around Massachusetts (and other locations across the country). And this time of year there are a lot! From fireworks to reenactments, this is a great time of year to live in Massachusetts. But isn't it always a great time of year to live in Massachusetts?
