Because this information has made its way into your hands, there’s a safe bet that you are interested in preserving American history.  The Preservation Mass Barn Task Force is a membership of individuals like you who are looking for allies in the battle to preserve historic barns in Massachusetts.

A forum for information gathering and networking, the task force is committed to increasing the awareness of the need to preserve these Massachusetts icons.  Are you an owner of an old barn?  Perhaps you’re a tradesperson who can offer expertise and / or benefit from that of your peers.  Are you a preservationist or simply interested in barns?  The Preservation Mass Barn Task Force wants you to become involved, whatever your
vested interest.

Current members have begun to lay the awareness foundation.   The Preserve Mass Barns website was established as a central repository of editorials, newsletter articles, announcements of educational events and activities, white papers, and the like.  It’s poised to become a robust Resource Center for anyone concerned with preserving this significant symbol of early American life.

As a task force member, your mission is to “spread the word.”   Become a catalyst in your local community.  Encourage the topic of barn preservation at historic preservation and conservation meetings.  Help to organize a workshop, become part of a committee, contribute an editorial or write an article for the periodic newsletter.  Add value by helping to develop the Resource Center.  We want the Resource Center to be a tool for information that is both general and technical in nature.
